Bullet Moulds

All RCBS Bullet Moulds are machined to exacting specifications ensuring accurate and clean casts time after time.
Unless noted otherwise, all RCBS bullet moulds are double cavity type. Each mould is identified by a five  digit number. The first two or three digits identify bullet caliber, the last three are bullet weight in grains. (Round Balls are identified by caliber only.) 

EXAMPLE: 45-530-RN + (45 caliber | 530gr | round nose | single cavity)

NOTE: Variations in diameter and weight of cast bullets can be expected simply as a result of changing alloy. Most bullet moulds produce bullets slightly oversized - RCBS produces cavities from .001” to .002” over nominal barrel dimensions because of different alloys used. Cast bullets must be resized and lubricated prior to loading. Gas checked designed bullets can be used entirely satisfactory without gas checks afixed.

Bullet weights are established by the following methods:
• Rifle & Silhouette Bullets—Linotype alloy.
• Pistol, Black Powder Silhouette and C Sharps Arms Bullets—An alloy of one part tin to ten parts lead.
• Cowboy Bullets—an alloy of one part tin to twenty parts lead.
• Round & Minie Balls—Pure lead.

CUSTOM BULLET MOULDS
RCBS no longer produces unique, one-of-a-kind, custom bullet moulds. RCBS still offers approximately 140 standard and Limited Production / Special Order bullet moulds.
